Laydown runs entirely on your own computer. It has no network code, no analytics and no accounts. It does not collect, store or transmit any personal data — not to us, not to anyone. There is nothing to opt out of, because there is nothing being gathered.
What Laydown does with your files
Laydown opens a PDF you choose, arranges its pages onto a press sheet, and writes a new PDF where you tell it to. Your documents are read from and written to your own disk, and nowhere else. They are never uploaded, and the app makes no internet connection while it works — or at any other time.
What is stored on your device
The only things Laydown keeps are the preferences you set yourself:
- Your recent-files list and window preferences, in the Windows registry under
HKCU\Software\Laydown(macOS and Linux use the platform's standard per-user settings location). - Any imposition presets you save — plain files you place where you choose.
All of this lives on your machine, under your user account. It is never sent anywhere. Uninstalling the app, or clearing the recent-files list from within it, removes this information.
No tracking, no third parties
There is no telemetry, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no third-party services embedded in the application. The app does not know who you are and makes no attempt to find out.
This website
This site is a set of static pages hosted on GitHub Pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics of its own. It loads the Inter typeface from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address as part of serving those font files — a standard part of how web fonts work. If you would rather avoid even that, a browser extension that blocks external fonts prevents it, with no effect on the app itself.
Children
Laydown is a general-purpose tool for print work. It is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date above. Because the app collects nothing, we do not expect the substance to change.

Questions are welcome on the project's issue tracker. Laydown is free, open-source software (AGPL-3.0); the full source is at github.com/danielmevit/laydown, so anything stated here can be checked against the code.
